I've written about one of my experiences with Aphrodite.
I've written to encourage you to *shine* and I've taken a stand
against you talking bad about yourself because I'm all about self love
Oh yes...like a fangirl loves Loki I'm all about the self love.
I think we're confused about what self love really is.
Somewhere along the way we thought self love = vanity
We were told don't brag about your accomplishments, don't be a sore looser
and other such things. We thought that meant that we should
be afraid to shine, we should stuff our emotions down (as if being sad about not winning
would somehow rain on the winner's parade). And because of all of that we thought we
shouldn't love ourselves. But that's not how a healthy relationship with one's self works.
Every time we wake up to a new day is another opportunity to practice relationships
We get practice with our loved ones when we see them and we get to practice with ourselves.
Ultimately self love is really about being in conscious (as in aware of & giving value/ emphasis to)
relationship with yourself and one of the best ways I know of to bring awareness and give value or
emphasis to yourself is through self blessing.
Self blessing is part of my personal practice at relationship and I want to share some of my thoughts
and suggestions for practice with you. So I'm finally releasing a mini (okay 20 page) self blessing workshop.
This was something I thought about teaching a class on and I may still do that. But the more I sat with
this piece the more I felt it needed to be a gift in honor of the 20 something me who was brave enough
to listen to the words Aphrodite told her and love herself so she could become the woman I am today.
Take this with my blessings and if you know someone who could use a self love boost please point them my way.
