Throughout December I'm Kickin' it Old Skool with Jamie Ridler, Sharon Ridler and a wonderful group of creatives! We're having loads of fun remembering when blogging was just that...fun! Join us any time! ![]() Last night as I sat by my fire and tended the flame on these candles I realized I didn't kick it! So I'm doing another double today connecting the word associations with wishes. And I thought I write the wishes in the form of a blessing to all who take a moment to read this post. 1. River~ May the river of your emotions run freely and smoothly releasing all that has past so you may be present with what is true for you. 2. Fresh~ May you breath in fresh perspectives and visions of how you can bring your deepest dreams into being. 3. Escape~ May those dreams escape the grasp of fear and doubt so they may shine a light for the rest of us to be encouraged and inspired by. 4. Moment~ May you remember and truly feel you have everything you need in this moment. 5. Night~ May the journey into the longest night revel treasures rooted within you awaiting your attention. May you bring these treasure to the light. And So It Is. Throughout December I'm Kickin' it Old Skool with Jamie Ridler, Sharon Ridler and a wonderful group of creatives! As a former choir geek, my list of favorite songs is crazy long and extremely eclectic so I'll share some of the music that is rocking my world right now. Most alternative music from the 80s (Morrissey, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran) on my Pandora ONe I can't get enough of Nouvelle Vague (that's french for New Wave). They do covers of 80s songs, like Billy Idol's Dancing with Myself. I'm also loving the new discovery of Pink Martini. They have that sitting at a french cafe feeling that is just perfect for closing out the year. I'm always digging show tunes right now so Phantom of the Opera soundtrack, The Sound of Music soundtrack and 'Hello Dolly' with the fabulous Barbra Streisand is on heavy rotation. And Ella Fitzgerald's version of 'Whatever Lola Wants' from Damn Yankees is rocking my world. Join us any time! ![]() Have a seat by the fire and I'll bring you a cup of tea to warm your body and spirit. And while you soak in the comfort of this space I'll share the 10 things I know for sure...in no particular order of course! 10. Death doesn't end a relationship. It just changes the way we connect to our loved one. 9. Not asking for help is selfish. We deny other the opportunity to express their love for us. 8. We are supported in so many invisible ways that we forget how magical our lives truly are. 7. The more I weave support from the elements into my life the more supported I feel. 6. Growing a business is very near to growing a child. You birth it and try to make it be helpful in the world. And as it grows, it changes and serves the world in ways you can't imagine when it's tiny. 5. Growing a child is far more risky than anything you do in business. 4. We all have the same 168 hours in a week. We have time for what's important to us. 3. Self care is not a luxury. It's a way of organizing your life to be the best 'you' that you can be. 2. Learning to love yourself is one of the most life changing experience you can have. 1. One way or another it will all be okay. I'm getting ready for my annual Santa Lucia party. It's my most favorite thing I do every year but it does take a lot of work to spread winter joy through out my house so yeah...I kind of fell off the wagon for keeping up with Kickin' it Old Skool. Today I'm back and I'm going to play catch up! Huzzah! Day 8: Blog space![]() I don't have one particular space I blog in. Most of the time I take myself out to a coffee shop and use a Moleskine notebook to write out my thoughts (talk about old skool!) I'm still pretty intimidated by that blinking curser staring at me so most of my blog posts start out in the notebook and end up being typed out on my Kindle or later on Big Mac (my loving nickname for my iMac) Day 9: Lights, Camera, Action!Favorite movies in no particular order 10. Star Wars Trilogy 9. Lord of the Rings Trilogy 8. White Christmas 7. To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Judy Newmar 6.. Disney's Beauty and the Beast 5. The Incredibles (Disney/Pixar) 4. Sense and Sensibility (the one with Emma Thompson in it) 3. The Matrix (only the first one) 2. Pirates of the Caribbean 1. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (yep...can't get enough of Dr. Frank!) Bonus new favorite: Thor the Dark World (because I'm a serious Hiddles-sister!) Day 10: Showing you MineDay 11: Water WorksI pretty much wear my heart on my sleeve. Give me a good show or a heart felt video and it will get me in the *feels* every time. My latest tear party has been that WestJet Christmas Miracle vid...oh yea... pass the tissues because major watery feels happened here!
Well that gets me up to date. If you made it this far you have my gratitude! I'll be visiting blog later this afternoon to see what amazing things you've been doing while I've been away.
