It's Friday succulent beans! Here's where I'll share my thoughts on the spiritual practices I currently find most scrumptious! If you like what you read please subscribe to my RSS feed or my tea time mailing list! Blessings~it's a magical gift we often take for granted. We all have given and received a blessing at some time~ just sneeze in public and see what happens! Why not use this gift to give a self-blessing? A self blessing is the incredibly effective act of harnesses the ability to consecrate yourself, pronounce yourself holy and bestow Goddess/God/All that Is highest good upon yourself. This ritual is one of the most powerful tools in my personal practice. I can not recommend highly enough. Its particularly helpful in recognizing your Goddess-self, increase self love while giving yourself strength and courage to move forward on your chosen spiritual path. I started out by doing it as part of my ritual observance of the full moon and gradually shifted to doing it once a week, choosing Friday, the day ruled by Venus, Goddess of Love. I suggest you add this to any practice you already do regularly. Is it complicated?
Not at all dear one! I find the simpler times have been the most dynamic! When I've had an especially difficult week~I go for a more involved blessing ritual to shake off the crud and lift my spirits. Of course, I may not be able to rub two brain cells together fast enough to do something grand. Then I go for simple because that's all I have the energy for. So how do you bless yourself? Here is the basic ritual with a blessing I wrote based upon the chakras. You can add more or subtract from what I've presented here. However you choose to adapt it is perfect for you: 1. Clear your space by smudging or use your favorite space clearing technique. 2. Cleanse yourself~yep...a nice shower or bath is lovely or simply wash your hands and face. 3. Set up an altar with a candle and your favorite essential oil blend. You could add a picture of someone you consider as holy (Goddess/God, angels, or spiritual teachers) to witness your ceremony. 4. Stand before your altar and take a few deep breaths. Check In with your body. Release any tension and allow it to call your guides, guardians and angels to be with you in your sacred space as you light your candle. At this time I invite the elements and my matron Goddesses to be with me. 5. Use your essential oil blend to bless yourself anoint each area of your body as you speak the words of blessing: A Blessing upon the root of my being that I may always make choices based upon what is right for my highest good. A Blessing upon my womb that I may bring new ideas to life fully formed and whole. A Blessing upon my center that I may balance quiet time with activity, creativity with time for reflection. A Blessing upon my heart that I may be open to receive and give love in all its splendid forms. A Blessing upon my throats that I may speak well of myself, others and that I may speak out to right a wrong. A Blessing upon my eyes that I may fully see my own beauty reflected back at me every time I look in the mirror A Blessing upon my head that I may always remain connected to *You (*call upon a specific Goddess, Great Spirit or whomever you feel aligned with) the source of my being. 6. Spend a few minutes meditating on the people and things you consider to be a blessing in your life and how you can better move through your life knowing you too are a blessing to yourself. 7. Thank your guides, guardians, angels for witnessing your blessing ritual. Then go and have a great day! Comments are closed.
