Wishcasting Wednesday

13/4/2011

Picture
'She who Hears' by Joanna Powell Colbert
I admit when I first looked I was a bit perplexed by the Wishcasting Wednesday question.  After all I read all the time (currently reading: Radical Forgiveness, Writing Down the Bones, The Right Brain Business Plan and Women who run with Wolves) and I listen to audio books as I drive (Knit Two and various business and marketing books).  And although I'm always looking for the next good book, I surely couldn't wish to read any more at this time.  So I thought I'd take a different approach.

Another definition of 'read' is to 'discern (a fact, emotion, or quality) in someone's eyes or expression'.  To me this means trusting your intuition's guidance to connect you with person and their experiences in a deeper way.  If you can connect with people in a deeper way, you are giving yourself the opportunity to practice compassion for them. I think the world needs more Kuan Yin energy...more compassion so that we can work together to heal the planet.  So I wish to become better at reading people that I may practice compassion.

I found your website through Jamie Ridler's website. I love your site-we seem to have a lot of the same interests! Please check out my website: www.whispersfromthewind.weebly.com

It's an inspirational site that I created since I felt the need to find a way to express my creativity and spirituality!

Blessings!

As you intend for yourself, I too am aligned with you.

I'm always trying to be better at reading others myself. Gestures, tone of voice. It's all very telling.
Her post today was a bit odd. I wonder if she got her categories mixed up and it was meant for her book group?

Hi Dionne!

You sound like me--always reading something. I always have a book tucked in my bag just in case I have to wait anywhere for a few minutes.

As Dionne wishes for herself I also wish for her!

What a great take on today's question - I love the idea of asking to be a better reader of people (I wish I'd thought of it that way)! I would love it if we all could learn to read others better; the world would have far more compassion it in.

As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you, also. <3
