A Young Aphrodite
As I drank my cup of Chai this morning, my inbox held a surprise gift from a dear old friend; a time capsule in the form of a picture of me circa 1985-86 with a guy who's name is lost to time. I looked at this picture for a long time trying to remember who this maiden was. There was something about her even at this young age.
This young woman was an Aphrodite.
She looked in the mirror often being pleased with what she saw as she fixed her hair and make up.
She smiled easily and saw beauty reflected in the eyes of others.
She wore berets and other hats because she loved how she looked in them.
She sang all the time to songs old and new and reveled in sharing her voice.
She thought her self wise, weird and wonderful...
She took pleasure in good food, good books, and good friends. She knew her body was full of power as it developed whistle worthy curves and ample cleavage. She took pleasure in that too!
She knew the teenage boys wanted her and yet she longed for something more than just physical pleasure.
This young Aphrodite longed to be loved truly, deeply loved from her lustiness all the way to her most vulnerable bits.
In the years to come, this young Goddess would change and grow.
She would give up her deep self love for love of another only to recover it again many years later when Goddess began calling her name over cups of tea.
This young Aphrodite was me.
This young Aphrodite is me.
